Our HSE team
Our HSE department strives to continuously improve our methods by measuring performance against KPI's and targets.
Our UK HSE department comprises the following:
HSE Director
The UK Executive Committee is supported by the HSE Director and receives weekly and monthly HSE reports advising of critical issues impacting the business and of progress made against stated initiatives.
HSE Sector Leaders
Each business sector is supported by a dedicated HSE Sector Leader who is a member of the Sector Executive Team. Each of the HSE Leaders is supported by a team of HSE Managers.
HSE Managers
Our HSE Managers are each assigned a specific geographical area and work closely with our 7,000 unit managers on all aspects of food safety as well as health and safety. The team consists of qualified environmental health officers or safety practitioners. They are often members of professional bodies which assists them in keeping up to speed with all the latest challenges, legislation and areas of best practice.
Head of Environment
Environmental initiatives form one of the key pillars of the published Compass Corporate Responsibility Framework. Specialist advice and guidance is provided by our Head of Environment.
Quality Management team
This team is responsible for our quality management systems programme of ISO accreditation and certification in relation to ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001 and ISO 9000 series.
Vendor Assurance team
All our suppliers need to be audited and added to the Approved Vendor List. This team ensures products and services supplied to Compass Group are safe and fit for purpose. They audit all our potential suppliers with a self-certification questionnaire and, in some cases, an audit visit to their premises.
Security Services
As an approved contractor (Security Industry Authority) our operations are required to comply with the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (PSIA 2001) and the Private Security Services Act 2004 (PSSA 2004) in Ireland. Our Security Services Manager advises the business on these requirements.
