Now in its 23rd year, the glittering Craft Guild of Chefs Awards ceremony, which took place at the Westminster Park Plaza on Thursday 1st June, is considered The Oscars of the chef world and celebrates the best of the best culinary talent from across all sectors of the industry.
It was here that, surrounded by a room full of some of the industry’s most outstanding chefs, Restaurant Associates Head Chef, Simon Webb, took the stage to receive the prestigious Competition Chef Award.
To be recognised at this esteemed event is a remarkable achievement and tops off Simon’s hugely successful track record of competing within some of the most challenging culinary environments. This latest accolade particularly recognises his Gold Medal winning role as Captain of England’s Culinary Olympic team last year.
“We had a wonderful experience at the Culinary Olympics in November of last year. Picking up England’s first ever Gold Medal as captain of the team, was an amazing high point for me personally, and to win the Competition Chef Award is right up there as well. However, cooking is not an individual profession and I would like to praise every chef in England’s victorious team as well as my team in the kitchen at Restaurant Associates.” – Simon
Congratulations Simon on this much deserved achievement!
