An introduction to a “pantry style” delivered-in offer

We know that the needs of businesses are changing.

Due to constraints on space, infrastructure and variable employee numbers in the office, a dining offer that requires kitchens and labour just doesn’t always work.

One size doesn’t fit all and we get it.

As the demand for a pantry style, delivered-in offer increases, we have curated a number of solutions. We’re proud to have developed a flexible and forward-thinking food service model, delivering world-class meals to workplaces across our client portfolio. We simply need storage space and, where hot food is required, the ability to regenerate and finesse dishes on site.

These solutions allow us to make labour and space efficiencies while still providing personalised food experiences that have become a truly tangible employee value proposition (EVP) to draw colleagues back into the office more frequently.

Through our partnerships with businesses across London we create and deliver an impressive range of sandwiches, salads and healthy snack and pantry items to our clients in the city.

In addition, we have established a central production kitchen (CPK) in Battersea and are currently developing a second in another city location. We now have the capacity to produce and deliver a varied selection of bespoke, nutritionally balanced meals

prepared by our own talented culinary teams.

Furthermore, we have opened up more opportunities for local food producers and suppliers to support this concept, through our commitment to procuring fresh, sustainable produce locally, as part of our social and climate promise.

Let’s look at the food:

Eat Ten

Maximum nutrition, minimum emission

Our EAT TEN range was developed to offer nutritious and delicious tasting food that doesn’t cost the earth. The philosophy is simple: use only the highest quality ingredients with the lowest possible delivery miles to minimise the carbon footprint.

So not only are the meals in the range healthy and sustainable, all EAT TEN products have been carbon labelled, using the research conducted by the University of Oxford’s LEAP programme, to encourage customers to make better choices.

Hot Meals

Ensuring a seamless service

Delivering in a hot offer does bring with it challenges, for example ensuring food remains hot throughout service. One way we are able to mitigate this is by having a CPK (Central Production Kitchen) based within 5 miles, limiting travelling time to site and avoiding the risk of delays.

Having a swift and efficient delivery is paramount to a successful operation, so our vans will need designated access and the ability to park at site for an allotted period of time, to allow for a smooth unload. We also require an agreed safe and quick route to the kitchen and dining areas, one that avoids any impact to your employees and visitors.

To ensure food is served to our exacting specifications, we would recommend basing a Chef Manager onsite. This person will assist with deliveries, presentation of food and will be on hand to deal with any issues that could potentially arise during transit of food or during service.

From our experience of operating this style of service, we would recommend keeping the hot menu streamlined, perhaps a soups an2 – 3 hot mains, accompanied by a simple selection of sides.
